Bangor Police Chief Glenn Kerrigan is investigating whether a borough police officer went on a profanity-laced rant over Northampton County's 911 emergency radio channel three months ago.

''I'm looking into that transmission,'' said Kerrigan on Friday. ''With people feeling it possibly could be one of my officers, I want to be positive.''

Kerrigan said he discussed the bizarre radio transmission two weeks ago with Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli. Morganelli was unavailable for comment.

Since then, Kerrigan said he has been waiting for help from a voice analyst ''from another agency,'' which he declined to identify." More...
